"Trillides' latest work, perhaps less poetic than Nitsa but certainly more theatrical in writing and paradoxically closer in style to his short stories, once again finds its stage realization through the unique and eccentric directorial vision of Paris Erotokritou. He takes the production out of the closed theater space and places it in a natural environment that inevitably evokes the final act of the murders. The lake at the Sia mine, "a toxic reservoir with blood-red water, surrounded by copper mines," becomes the natural backdrop for the performance, which, through the specialized use of technology, transforms Trillides' work into a "gigantic installation that gradually assimilates the audience, the citizens of this society," who are exposed to this natural setting, far from the safety net of a conventional theater's auditorium. Erotokritou's endeavor to stage this festival-like super-production seems so daring and carries such risk that it could easily result in not only a financial but also an artistic failure. There is no doubt that Paris Erotokritou's inventive interpretation of George Trillides' work offers the audience a unique theatrical experience, unprecedented in Cyprus, that moves away from theatrical conventions and norms."
